1. It is crucial that you correctly identify a plant because if you fail the mistake could be fatal. Some plants are highly toxic and could kill you if taken. For that reason it is absolutely necessary that you are able to correctly identify a plant.

2. If you are out exploring nature odds are if you only know a few plants then odds are that you will not be able to find that plant, leaving you out of luck. If you know many different plants from many different regions you will be able to recognize plants with ease.

3. Not every plant is in bloom at the same time as others. So if it was winter and all you knew was summer blooming plants you cant do anything. Vice versa with winter plants to summer, so it season has a major affect on you and what plants you use.

4. It would be very important to establish a good relationship with the locals and their habitat because they could tell you new information about plants. They also could introduce you to new plants that you might not have known about before.

5. I would not trust my own research or traditional medicines if I was stranded out in the wild. I wouldn't trust if because I feel that there is a reason that we live to be much older than we did back when traditional was used. That and I don't trust myself to properly make the concoction used to help whatever I had.
